TMT Program Webinar: Insights into the Role of Digitally Enabled Climate Finance

Climate finance is increasingly gaining importance regarding the future of climate action. Delivering climate finance at the local level is a major challenge. At the same time, it is at the local level where its impact is most evident.

The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) has found that less than 10% of funding committed under international climate funds to help emerging economies reach their climate goals is directed at the local level. Therefore, localizing climate finance is becoming increasingly urgent.

Research shows that mobile and digital technology are well positioned to provide tools that help face the challenge and deliver climate funds where they are most needed. This webinar provides an overview of the role of mobile and digital technology in accelerating climate mitigation and adaptation financing in emerging markets.
