Agriculture Program: Deforestation in the Gran Chaco 17 September

This event represents the Agriculture Program’s first webinar on agriculture driven deforestation in the Gran Chaco ecoregion. The Gran Chaco is the second largest forested ecoregion in South America after the Amazon and spans four countries (Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil). It is home to a myriad of ecosystems (open forests, grasslands, wetlands) with unique and endemic biodiversity.

Our guests from the Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, Sustainable Management and Production Coordinator Dr. Maria Eugenia Periago and Program Coordinator Ulises Martinez, will present on deforestation trends in the Argentine Chaco, the Forest Law and its lack of enforcement, and the countries and companies that source soy and beef from the region.

The event will be moderated by Nadine Cavusoglu, Director, Agriculture Program, Emerging Markets Investors Alliance.

The webinar is open to emerging markets financial professionals only. Please use this link to register.
