The Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) is a multi-stakeholder initiative (including mining companies, purchasers, organized labour, civil society, affected communities and investors) that has been developing best practice standards for many years. Independent audit reports based on the IRMA Standard are now being published, providing companies (and investors) with valuable information about performance gaps that need to be fixed. Experts from IRMA shared their findings and talked about the current state of affairs and trends in responsible mining.
