The Carbon Transition Initiative has issued a new report. It illuminates the role and the path of the food supply chain in carbon transition. The agriculture and food production industries are some of the largest emitters of greenhouse gasses, and four of the top five emitting countries are in Emerging Markets. There are a number of avenues to reduce the GHG emissions from agri-food systems. In addition to opportunities, investors should be mindful of risks relevant to the agriculture industry even if they do not directly invest in farms.
This brief will help investors to better understand the risks and opportunities of agri-food systems, as well as to learn about relevant best practices. It is now available to anyone interested in this important topic at www.emia.org. |
