Luther Bryan Carter is a Senior Advisor and Chair of Markets Programs at the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance (EMIA).
Luther has served in various senior-level roles at EMIA since 2015, including as Executive Fellow and Head of Sovereign Programs. Luther has 25 years of investment experience including in his other role as Head of Global Emerging Markets Debt at HSBC Global Asset Management. He previously executed roles similar to his role at HSBC at BNP Paribas Asset Management and Acadian Asset Management. Luther began his career as an Economist, at both T. Rowe Price Associates and the US Treasury Department, where he oversaw IMF loan programs and the G-7 debt relief / HIPC Initiative. Luther earned a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Georgetown University as well as an M.A. in International Development from Harvard University. Luther holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
