Therese Niklasson is a Senior Advisor with a sustainability focus at the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance.

Therese is a senior sustainability executive with over twenty years experience in the responsible investment (RI) field, primarily within asset management. In her different leadership roles she has been responsible for the overall RI function, working closely with executive leadership teams in setting the strategy and governance for the organisation. Her experience and focus has covered a range of asset classes in terms of ESG integration, stewardship activities, sustainable investment / impact funds and policy advocacy with both investments and clients from around the globe.   

After being an ESG analyst for a few years Therese became Head of Governance and Responsible Investing at Threadneedle Asset Management, followed by various senior roles in sustainability at Ninety One where her more recent position was Global Head of Sustainability. She then went on to become the Global Head of Sustainable Investment and a member of the executive team at Newton Investment Management within the BNY Investment Group. Therese holds degrees from the London School of Economics and Oxford University in the fields of Environmental Management and Policy.  She is a native Sweden and has a passion for spending time around the Scandinavian coast line.
